GET OUT AND VOTE!





WHO may register to vote?

A citizen of the United States who is also a resident of Arizona

18 years or more on or before the day of the next General Election

If you have been convicted of a felony, your civil rights must have been restored


WHEN may you register?

Any time

Registration forms must be received 29 days prior to an election. Forms are available at County Recorder Offices (see below), public libraries,or click here to download or request a registration form.


WHERE may you register?

Forms are available at City Clerk's offices, Motor Vehicle License offices, libraries, banks, and the Dept. of Economic Security to take away, complete, and mail in.

They can also be completed in person at the Office of the County Recorder.

Contact the County Recorder's Office (See below), Voter Registration Department, for the registration information, change of party preference, or early or absentee voting information.

Contact the County Elections Department for election-related procedures, polling locations, candidate or precinct boundary information, and assistance for citizens with disabilities.

You must RE-REGISTER whenever you (1)change your name, (2)move, or (3)change your political party affiliation.

You will receive a notice which shows your name and precinct location as it appears on the register within 30 days after the County Recorder receives your registration form.

You will receive a sample ballot or informational pamphlet ten (10) days prior to an election. It will contain the name of your precinct and the name and address of your polling place. However, cities, towns, and special districts are not required to mail sample ballots when only candidates and not questions are on the ballot. If you do not receive your sample ballot within five days of the election, contact the County Recorder's office.



THE PRIMARY ELECTION

Registration closes 29 days prior to election date Election Day. The Primary Election is held 8 weeks before the November elections to nominate party candidates for the General Election slate and to elect political party personnel. At a primary, the voter will receive only the ballot of the party designated at the time of registration.



THE GENERAL ELECTION

Registration closes 29 days prior to election date Election Day. The General Election is held the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of even-numbered years to elect national, state, county and local officials.
